Members of the South East Berks Fellowship helping at the Beaver Challenge and Sleepover at Earleywood campsite. They also enjoyed the campfire in the evening, great way to keep fit.
For the South East Berkshire District Fellowship annual New Year dinner we tried a new venue – the Crooked Billet at Wokingham. Thirty five members enjoyed a very good evening in pleasant surroundings with convivial company while having an excellent meal. Our thanks must go to Margaret Kemp who had volunteered to make all the arrangements and very well organised they were – thank you Margaret. Also thanks to Willie Kemp who gave Margaret much valuable support.
During the evening we were able to show our grateful appreciation to two of our members who were standing down from their District roles.
Maureen Chandler has stood down from her role as Deputy DC and Carolyne Brambley presented her with and an engraved glass paperweight. Maureen has given the District much valuable service over many years as ADC(BS), ADC(LT) and latterly as Deputy DC along with various roles with 1st South Ascot. Maureen is continuing to work with 1st South Ascot and being a member of the Fellowship.
Margaret Kemp was presented with an engraved paperweight by Gerald Hill – our District Chairman – for her many years of dedicated service as a member of the District Executive. Margaret has decided to stand down from the committee but we are very pleased that she will continue to run the District Scout Shop and be a member of the Fellowship.
Maureen and Margaret – thank you both for all that you have done for the District and also for the Fellowship – all that you have done has been greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you at various events around the District.
